What
is Billiards?
According to the encyclopedia,
billiards originated in England
during the fourteen century. The
early period of billiards used
balls made of brass and wood,
but, as the game developed, ivory
was used. Because ivory has always
been hard to find, ivory billiard
balls were expensive. Due to the
cost, billiards became an entertainment
for the elite of society.
Following
the development of modern technology,
the materials used for billiard
balls were rubber and polyethylene.
Ordinary people began to play
billiards because the cost of
billiards equipment dropped.
Many families today in countries
such as America will set up
a billiard table at their house,
because playing billiards is
in vogue in America. Billiards
is a sport which requires a
lot of skill to master, and
it can seem too much for the
beginning learner. But, to begin,
you only need to know the basic
of playing billiards, and then
you can play it with friends
easily and happily.
